Aboriginal parents project

In today's society, aboriginal families face a far greater challenge in maintaining family and traditional values. History impacting upon aboriginal societies has left a wake of family breakdown and loss of connectedness to cultural values. The strengths of language and communication, once integral to family systems, seem to be slipping away. As concerned elders reflect on these societal changes, they often agree that there is value in turning the focus back on traditional wisdom. Parenting is one of the most difficult jobs for us to do in our lifetimes, and to achieve healthy parenting on any level is a measure of success. One of the first things to acknowledge is that in order to care for our children, we must learn to care for ourselves. When we expect our children to have self worth and feel good about themselves, we as parents must also begin to exercise this philosophy within our own lives.

Web Analytics as a Means to an End

Analytics is simply a means to an end. It doesn't provide all the answers; just understanding visitor behavior won't make your company perform better online.

If Web analytics focus is misdirected at your organization, keep these points in mind:

Take action. The key to success is taking action on your findings. Ideally, this can be in the form of A/B or multivariate testing or behavioral targeting. This way you can truly see the impact of your changes. If you just roll out a new page, you won't truly know the overall impact it made or what made the greatest impact on the page, as behaviors and traffic often fluctuate over time. You don't need to test new ideas against your entire traffic base. Depending on your site traffic, you can just carve out a percentage of overall traffic to test.

: New magazines in US and Canada week of June 24, 2007

At least that is what TIME magazine is telling their editorial staff. You see, it seems like the magazine's writers aren't all that enthusiastic to also write for the website, time.com, since management is "not offering them any additional money, nor reducing their existing workloads," as a commenter put it on Gawker.com.

So, Managing Editor Richard Stengel wrote, according to Gawker, in an internal memo:

"Let me make this explicit: evaluations of every Time writer, correspondent, and reporter will be based on the quality and quantity of the contributions each of you makes to both the magazine and to TIME.com. TIME.com is a daily responsibility; Time magazine is a weekly responsibility. TIME is made up of both."

Can't you just hear the writers: Y-E-S, S-I-R!!

"I suspect that some of you regard writing for TIME.com as an obligation, and not what you came to TIME to do.
