Parent's Day
However, each of those days focuses on them individually and the day I wish to celebrate with my parents as they get older is "Parent's Day." It is the commitment they both gave together in raising and supporting both me and my family that I am grateful. If it were up to me, every day would be "Parent's Day." As a young child, the memories of growing up with my brothers and sister are centered around the dinner table. Does anyone remember that? At 6:30 p.m. every night of the week the family would gather for dinner. If you were late, it was off to the room. We would listen to the stories of Pop's work, like it or not, and every once in a while we could sneak in a story of the day spent at the pool with Mom. During the school year, Mom taught school, so she would get up early and have breakfast ready on the kitchen table.
